Northern lad Rich, aka Hipnosys, has been hooked on electronic music since 1989 after getting his hands on an Atari ST. A few years down the track and after declining an invite to join the band Doves in the late 90’s Rich eventually hooked up with popular beat combo The Streets in 2002. The tour proved to be a success, despite the loss of a few teeth and most of his frontal lobe. However, still equipped with four limbs and a cracked copy of Windows XP Apollo 13 Edition, he soldiered on, inadvertently inventing the Space Disco genre with The Second Whorl and 2003 track Drop The Bomb.
Today Hipnosys produces quality electronic music across all styles (except bad ones) and has recently been working in tandem with Novation and Loopmasters to create the soundpacks for their Launchpad for iPad app. He was also called upon by Lexus to create the soundtrack for their Creating Amazing 'Manifesto' campaign.
His collaborations with Tactal Hots label owner Spencer (aka Desyfer) have been received with critical acclaim by a host of top Dj's. Hipnosys has also enjoyed collaborations under alias Strata with co-producer Fletch.
And when he’s not banging his Hipnosys head against the studio wall Rich can be spotted in the wild playing keys with The Rivalry, EWJ and the drunkest band in the world, The Kathleen Turner Overdrive.
